Bringing a Brand Idea to Life

Embedding a brand internally through a multi-sensory event following a brand refresh.

Objective

Concept for and design all-staff internal event, which celebrated an organisations 75th anniversary as well as a newly launched brand refresh. Working within a small undisclosed budget and tight timeframe.

Action

  • Researched and developed creative event options.

  • Pitched concepts to team director and events lead with recommendations.

  • Developed the selected concept, which brought Landsec’s newly launched brand idea of “Everything is Experience” to life by delving deeper into idea of “Experience.“ This concept was an immersive, multi-sensory experience for employees - working with the 5 senses to guide and surprise.

  • Collaborated with the event director, which included conducting site visits, discussions with the on-site venue team on theme and logistics, and further exploration of sensory ideas.

  • Designed event branding graphics as well as internal communications to generate excitement and engagement internally ahead of the event.

  • Showcased to employees what a truly great experience can look and feel like while making the brand idea more ownable - highlighting employee roles in creating the overall brand experience.

Result

  • Winner of Best Live Internal Event at the CorComms Awards 2019.

  • Successfully embedded the brand identity internally and illustrated what a truly great experience can look and feel like.

  • Employees fully engaged with and enjoyed the immersive, multi-sensory event, making the brand idea more ownable.

A brand is more than just a logo. For internal teams, that emotional connection matters just as much as it does for customers. Everyone plays a role in shaping the overall brand experience, whether during an interview or in a customer interaction.

I used the brand idea to inspire a multi-sensory experience which included meditation rooms to edible plants, which were designed to surprise, delight, and immerse employees in the brand’s values in a tangible and memorable way.
